Of all the presentations and exhibitions we organised, the most successful was the exhibition we put on at our college on Wednesday April 23, 2009.
The aim of the exhibition was to showcase three elements: 3D design, photography and Weymouth Project canvas boards so that the viewers could get an idea of the kind of work we were producing for our principle units and project themes of our diploma.
Planning , organisation and teamwork skills were central to making our event vibrant and successful. We held numerous meetings, kept minutes to keep everyone updated and informed team members if they were absent.
Once the time, date and venue for the exhibition had been established, we publicised and promoted our event by designing flyers, displaying posters around the college and produced invitations to give other students, college staff, family and friends.
After we had planned the event, we then focused on putting up our displays to have maximum impact as our guests came through the door.
The event was a success. It was fulfilling to see guests streaming in to view the array of visual art forms that we had produced. They were overwhelmed and complimentary about our creative ideas and enjoyed the refreshments provided.
We made a few mistakes but as a group and as individuals we have learnt greatly from the experience.
Preparing visual artwork and planning for an exhibition was very exciting. Take a look at our video.
