Our partners in producing this site have been the Press Association, the national news agency of the UK and Ireland.
They supply news, showbiz and sports stories, pictures and video to TV stations, websites, newspapers and magazines throughout the world.
We worked alongside journalists from PA throughout the 10 weeks of the project in their central London newsroom.
From there, all the biggest stories of the day are filed to media around the world. Whether it’s crime or politics, health or education, a film premier or big sports event, Press Association journalists are there.
The Press Association delivers a wide range of work based learning programmes for schools and colleges based around the media and media products. Click here for more information about the Press Association Training Experience.

Website launch meeting
We really enjoyed our work experience at the Press Association. Here are some of our personal thoughts.
I really enjoyed the experience we had at the Press Association because it allowed me to work with professionals and people who are actually "living my dream".
Isabelle
My time at the Press Association was very enjoyable. Working there has allowed me to challenge and further develop my personality. I know my skills and abilities more than before. The staff were very good and really helpful. I would like to thank them for helping us make this an outstanding website.
Anum
My thoughts about the Press Association are good. I have gained a lot of confidence and enhanced my skills, like creating a brand website and communicating to others my products I have developed. If you are given the chance to go to PA I would advise you to take it because it is too good to miss.
Daniel
My experience at PA was great. I liked every minute of it. It was very enjoyable, especially learning how to make this website. The staff were very helpful and very nice to talk to. Also, because this was a group work experience, I got a chance to know my classmates more.
Tenesia
I felt that my work experience was great for me because I learnt about making web pages to showcase my work. I enjoyed studying together with the other guys at the Press Association. All the teachers are nice.

We got the chance to tour the newsroom and see the writers, photographers and reporters as they set about their big assignments, interviewing stars like Lady Gaga, politicians such as the Prime Minister Gordon Brown and sports stars like David Beckham.
There are loads of young people who work in the London offices for the Press Association. People who were inspired to work in the media and who have been fortunate to get some of the most exciting jobs there are. By being awarded this new diploma we are able to take the next step towards landing that all important first job.
We created our own stories for our website using the same technology and resources relied upon by the Press Association. They have a big team of photographers who are shooting thousands of pictures every day. Their archive is already 15 million pictures and growing. Increasingly the journalists are shooting video as well as still pictures.
