My 3D design project was one of my favourite products that I produced. I was given the theme Baroque.
I researched and studied Baroque art then developed my design using patterns and the main colour of Baroque gold. I then decided to make a canvas board using different materials including sponges, gold wool, paper, glitter, gold glue, little match sticks and gold spray. I divided the canvas into different sections. I was very creative with this project and I really enjoyed developing it.
On this course I have used lots of creative software, such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop and many more. These types of software are mainly used for web design and manipulating photos.
My name is Daniel Davis. I am 18-years-old. I am currently attending the Creative and Media Level 1 diploma course at Newham College of Further Education.
The school I went to did not provide me with much of a choice in terms of courses in media. So I decided that when I left I would look for a suitable area of study and that’s when I found this course.
For the first couple of days I found it hard to get used to all the software and technical terms. But as I began to understand them it has got easier.
I am on this course because I like the way advertisements can just get someone’s attention and I also enjoy graphics, logo design, web design and drawing.
After this I want to go on to the level 2 course or maybe get a junior job in the media industry as a games designer or graphic designer. It’s a good course and this is a good website so check it out.
Cheers Daniel
My presentation took place in Stratford Circus and featured some of the work that I have produced.
I wanted to bring a specific piece of work to present but because it was not finished I decided to bring my Weymouth project, the sketch ideas from my project and my sketch book.
There were about 20 people at the presentation and most of the audience was from the education department. After the presentation, I had about four people ask me questions.
One of the main questions was: "What made you want to do this course?" The answer I gave was: "The thing that made me do this course was that I wanted to know how to research and develop an idea.”
I think this presentation went really well and was very well received.
So far I have found this course really interesting. I have gained a lot of skills which include communication, confidence, problem solving and planning.
One of my best trips was when we went on was the three-day personal development to Danbury. It was great! The activities included zip lines, rock climbing, and a loads of teamwork skills. Other experiences include our work experience at the Press Association, Weymouth and the trips around London.
Overall I think this course is generally really good because it gives you these experiences and you learn lots of new skills through studying.
If you asked me how I feel about this course I would say it is varied; full of fun ways to learn and fun trips.
